The holy shrines of Yamunotri, Gangotri, Kedarnath, and Badrinath, collectively known as the Char Dham, are among the most revered spiritual circuits of the Himalayas. Also called the Chota Char Dham, this sacred pilgrimage is one of the most sought-after journeys in Northern India, drawing lakhs of devotees every year.
Traditionally, the yatra moves from west to east – beginning at Yamunotri, then continuing to Gangotri, proceeding to Kedarnath, and finally concluding at Badrinath. At Devyaan, we design your Char Dham Yatra 2025 experience to combine faith, comfort, and a true connection with divinity.

Yamunotri – The Abode of Goddess Yamuna
The Char Dham journey starts at Yamunotri, dedicated to Goddess Yamuna. Surrounded by the enchanting Rawai Valley (also called Barkot), Yamunotri holds immense spiritual importance. In Hindu belief, Yamuna is the daughter of the Sun God and the twin sister of Yama, the God of death. Bathing in her sacred waters is said to absolve sins and grant protection from untimely death.

Gangotri – The Sacred Source of Ganga
Next, the path leads to Gangotri, where Goddess Ganga is worshipped. Situated on the banks of the holy river Bhagirathi, the shrine is deeply tied to the legend of King Bhagirath, whose penance brought the Ganga from the heavens to Earth. The Ganga is considered the purest river in India, symbolizing salvation and eternal purity.
Kedarnath – The Sacred Jyotirlinga of Lord Shiva
Moving further, devotees reach Kedarnath, the most remote and spiritually intense of the Char Dham temples. Nestled at an altitude of 3,580 meters near the Chorabari glacier, this temple is one of the twelve Jyotirlingas of Lord Shiva and a key part of the Panch Kedar. With the Mandakini River flowing close by and the snow-clad Kedarnath peak and Kedar Dome towering in the backdrop, the temple represents strength, devotion, and surrender.

Badrinath – The Seat of Lord Vishnu
The final leg of the yatra takes pilgrims to Badrinath, situated along the Alaknanda River. According to legend, Lord Vishnu meditated here while Goddess Lakshmi sheltered him by transforming into a Badri (berry) tree. Impressed by her devotion, Lord Vishnu named the place Badrikashram. The temple opens only between May and October, drawing millions of devotees seeking blessings, peace, and divine grace.
